As already said, FileCtrl unit trigger a warning saying it is specific to a
platform. Actually this unit is specific to Win32. As long as you are
interested in Win32, there is no problem. If you want your application to be
ported to .NET or Kylix, then you have a problem.

You would only find equivalent for other platforms obviously as those
operations are specific to a given platform. Which other plateform are you
interested in ? Why do you think you have a problem ? Just turn off that
warning if you are building a win32 application.
