Occasional friends flash drive may do it.... remember about 3 years ago when the entire Waikato Hospital system was brought down by a virus for about 3 days - someone put a USB drive in the Wilsons car park office computer apparently.
Know of office network drives getting crypto locker on them, again from someone from a branch office with a USB drive copying something innocuous onto the network. If you run any Siemens PLC devices then there is a chance nothing will protect you (Stuxnet and its variants). But then you will never know its there unless you are running certain controllers with centrifuges. -----Original Message----- From: Marshland Engineering Sent: Wednesday, August 24, 2016 9:02 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [DUG] Anti-virus software I too have ditched AV. The slow performance was the issue. I just watch where I surf and what I open. Probably been without AV for 5 years now. I don't however read or connect with any customer info other than the occasional friends flash Drive. .
