LZH compression and the LHA archive format itself is bog standard;
e.g. Winzip supports it by having the public domain LHA utility
defined in a known location and just calls that.  Use of spanning is
NOT LHA compatible however; it's something we added for our users.
Similarly, if you encrypt the archive for any reason, LHA won't be
able to decompress it.

That aside, TCompLHA provides LHA-compatible archives, with the same
limitations -- max 2GB (*original* filesize) per individual
compressed file in the archive, but no max archive size per se other
than any OS-specific limitations.
