The default delphi 8 license is a named user license. i.e. you can install it on as many machines as you use, as long as you are the only user of that Delphi 8 license. Notice I said license and not machine. That also means you can use several machines at the same time if required.
I think from memory, someone mentioned, that once your install count reaches a certain number, the automatic license will stop and you will then need to talk to Borland about it ... I have already installed D8 about 3 or 4 times, due to different reasons each time. Although it is on the same machine each time. I seem to remember and don't take it as gospel, that Borland allow you to install it on a number of machines, as long as on one is being used at any one time. Conor, Can I suggest you post the question to the b.p.d.non-technical newsgroup. John Kaster from Borland Customer Relations is a frequent poster and would probably give you an answer. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Myles Penlington Sent: Wednesday, 7 April 2004 5:17 p.m. To: 'NZ Borland Developers Group - Delphi List' Subject: RE: [DUG] Delphi 8 Licensing Perahps if they get 30 registrations of the same license, then they know they have an issue. Over the lifetime of a single Delphi version I would probably have to register between 3 & 7 times.
