Don't import it just copy it over the top of the AddressBook you want to replace I went through this approx 2-3 weeks ago (trying the export/import crap) you just copy the old .wab over the top of the new one!
Favourites should be in: "C:\Documents and Settings\<*** Your Profile Name ***>\Favorites" For the Desktop right-click and make sure you have "Auto-Arrange" turned off...
