My hard drive went AWOL early last week. Fortunately I've been able to rebuild my system and retrieve most of my important data from backups. Programs of course are a different story, but again I've been able to find most of my original program files. I now have a few niggling issues that I need to fix as follows :- 1. My address book data has disappeared but it's still available in Outlook Express. I've tried Importing it back from c:\Windows\Application Data\Microsoft\AddressBook\User.wab but am obviously doing somwthing wrong. What? 2. I have a copy of all the data off my old Hard Drive. Where should I look for my Browser "Favourites" folder as I would like to restore it into the new system. 3. As for 2) above, the Dictionary file for MS Word. 4. I accidentally opted to "Customise My Desktop" in Start\Settings\Active Desktop, instead of "Update Now". Now I cannot drag and drop the icons into groups that make sense to me. They just go straight back where they were. How do I regain control here? 5. Now for the really annoying one. The Dial Up Connection dialog box keeps on popping up and taking over control of whatever else I may be doing. It seems to be predominantly initiated by activity within Windows Explorer but goes off on its own as well, sometimes every five or ten seconds. I've tried pausing the Task Scheduler and disabled the auto scan on my McAffee virus application all to no avail. I'd appreciate some tips on where to look.
