Send a hyperlink for download ...

Really, sending executables in email is just too troublesome, I guess like
50% of company firewall will block access to it .. and users of the newer
Outlook versions will also not able to access those files (executable
attachment will get blocked by default in Outlook XP/2003 (if I remember
right)).

Kind Regards,
Stefan Mueller

Subject: [DUG]Sending email software

Distributing software....

I am favouring making a self installer using inno-setup (a nice Delphi based
free installer). This means sending a .exe file, which lots of email
systems will block, so I was thinking of sending the .EXE inside a .zip
file. Will any email systems block a zip with a .EXE file inside? (I think
some antivirus programs do look for this combination).

Alternatively I could send the .EXE with a .DAT extension and get it renamed
after the attachment is saved..

What do others do?

John
