Mono doesn't quite get it right in my mind, a .NET application for
windows forms looks ugly (i.e. non-native) in Linux (I've only seen it
on screenshots, sorry), and a .NET app for GTK# looks ugly in Windows
(i.e. non-native again).

I have only seen this in screenshots, because Mono crashes on Ubuntu
6.06 LTS, I have read others are having the same problem with Mono
crashing and all the fixes on the net don't fix it, so I can't even test
Mono until the next Ubuntu "Edgy Eft" comes out maybe, but that is
unrelated.

Mono would be perfect if the GUI part was platform independent and was
native on each individual platform, i.e. use GTK+ on Linux and Windows
Forms on Windows, I've always been very picky about applications looking
native on the platform I am running, and both .NET and Java don't get
this 100% right.

Also, I'm still not really a fan of managed code myself, but that's just
me, I still prefer native binary apps whenever possible.
