Pointing the guy straight straight to Firefox, I like it, however... Maybe a little more explanation why to switch might help:
http://browsehappy.com/ That site explains about all the dangers about using IE, but it doesn't quite explain about the incompatibilities with web standards, I am a web developer, and know all too much about this, IE7 in my mind is crap (mind my language, sorry) with CSS standards. Even Paul Thurrot, who is well known to write reviews about Microsoft software and is quite Pro Microsoft, called IE7 a "cancer on the web", and urging users to "boycott IE", I can't help but to agree with him. Read it here: http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/asa/archives/008643.html But if you really... really... would like to use IE7, the message isn't very clear to me whether you mean Java or Javascript, they're two completely different technologies. Javascript is already built into the browser, both IE and Firefox have it built in. However, Java is not. You will need to download the latest Java Runtime from java.com (the Microsoft Java that came with XP service pack 1 is totally inadequate and cant run many Java programs), so you will definetely need the original Sun Java Runtime.
