Further to what Richard said ... for those needing a single user app embedded Firebird (where the firebird code is included in your .exe file ) rocks. So simple to deploy. And UDF's ain't so bad ... It just involves including one .udf file with all the others, and executing one sql file to load which functions you want. AND you can write your own in Delphi or whatever can create a DLL.
