I see that evince-view.h is in /usr/include/evince/3.0 on my Debian Jessie, can you install the needed runes in configure.ac to allow it to build for gtk-2 against later versions of libevince? I see that I have the version libevince-dev.3.14.1-2 installed on my machine.
