I compiled and installed the poppler from squeeze (0.12.4-1.2). With that I can compile evince2, but I get a linking error: /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -levdocument collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status linking of temporary binary failed: Command '['/bin/bash', '../libtool', '--mode=link', '--tag=CC', 'cc', '-o', '/home/src/evince2/debian/build/evince/libview/tmp-introspectOQghIW/EvinceView-2.30', '-export-dynamic', '/home/src/evince2/debian/build/evince/libview/tmp-introspectOQghIW/EvinceView-2.30.o', '-L.', '-levview', '-Wl,--export-dynamic', '-lgmodule-2.0', '-pthread', '-levview', '-levdocument', '-lgtk-x11-2.0', '-lgdk-x11-2.0', '-lpangocairo-1.0', '-latk-1.0', '-lcairo', '-lgdk_pixbuf-2.0', '-lgio-2.0', '-lpangoft2-1.0', '-lpango-1.0', '-lgobject-2.0', '-lfontconfig', '-lfreetype', '-lgthread-2.0', '-pthread', '-lglib-2.0']' returned non-zero exit status 1 Makefile:989: recipe for target 'EvinceView-2.30.gir' failed Right now I don't see a solution for this. Moreover, I'm wondering if this is the right path to go. Would a user want to install all sorts of old libraries?
