Of course, it would take more space. But I also think, there should be changed a lot of the toolbars, a major redesign, like MS did it with the ribbons (I like their idea, but think LibreOffice should get another interface, even a better one ;-). With this major redesign, there would be used a lot of space used in another way.
In the first step, we should implement this slider as another toolbar, which is not activated by default. Then we could make the users pay attention to make usability tests. I've made a screenshot of what it looks like now (on a 24" screen with full-hd resolution). I don't need this much space for editing texts. For example, there is MS with its ribbons and calibra with its control elements on the side. I think the time has come to redesign a lot. http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/file/n3993199/Screenshot.png -- View this message in context: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Idea-for-an-new-Undo-Redo-Function-tp3993164p3993199.html Sent from the Design mailing list archive at Nabble.com. -- Unsubscribe instructions: E-mail to [email protected] Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/design/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
