I'd rather not use buttons. That was tried with the original tabs and it didn't work well. Remember that the dialog is first and foremost a way to launch templates rather than a file manager. If we can't have templates on the topmost directory by default, then at least the dialog should default to the Template folder. Also, in the newest RC release, there are 4 template folders by default. Let's please settle on a single folder for all templates by default.
