Hi guys, I'm currently working on a LibreOffice issue, which is that the grid functionality in Writer is hard to use, because the grid is displayed as small dots, which is barely visible: https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89544
Note: In Impress and Draw, the grid is a bit more visible, because the main grid points are 3 pixel sized plus signs (which is also quite small for a 4k monitor), but the secondary points are still displayed as dots. I've seen another ticket that has a suggestion on how to solve this issue, showing a plus sign instead of dots (not just in Writer, but in all four affected applications): https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=120897 The proposed solution has a screenshot indicating that one side of the plus symbol should have a size proportion of 1 / 4 compared to the distance between two adjacent grid points. Based on the comments of this second ticket, you, the design team, have discussed this topic already and approved this solution. I created a proof of concept implementation using a plus sign instead of dots. I tested two versions of the implementation using size proportions of 1 / 4 and 1 / 8 to see how it looks. I attached a few screenshots showing the result. Both versions are much more visible than the current behavior. Can you check these screenshots and give me some feedback? Is this what you imagined when discussing this earlier? Which proportion do you think is the best to go with? Thanks!
