Hi Tamás,
people on this list express their opinion, ultimately the doer, you,
decides. As a compromise you could add some expert setting that controls
the plus symbol size, which allows to keep the single pixel solution
with a value of 1, and some reasonable default that solves the actual
issue.

I think my second proposal, having a 3x3 pixel crosses / plus signs for all
the grid points, is a good way to improve the situation (see attached

snapping points, this cross sign would visually indicate the functionality
of the points, on top of increasing the visibility. If the team could
approve that idea, it's something that can be implemented without an
enormous effort.
Anyway, I leave it to the design team to discuss this topic.
