I have updated the Stamping spec thusly:
http://svn.osafoundation.org/docs/trunk/docs/specs/rel0_7/Stamping-0.7.html

Stamping to add items to the Calendar and automatic date/time parsing

Chandler will attempt to parse date/time information in Title and Notes field of an item in the following situations:

   1. When stamping any item to add it to the Calendar, this includes Notes, Messages, Tasks and Task Requests (Message/Tasks)
   2. When pulling down items that have been added to the special Chandler Events IMAP folder

If date/time information cannot be successfully parsed, the item should remain an event with no specific date/time information, this assumes that we are able to support event items without date/time metadata.

It seems like there's quite a bit of work left to be done to make this feature usable. Are we expecting to have solved these issues by Preview?

Hi,

This behavior should apply to any kind of item that is being added to the calendar, not just messages, which means Notes and Tasks.

I have already implemented this. It is working fine. The problem that I am encountering is that since the parsedatetime code does not do semantic parsing, any date/time , even if it is not a event is being parsed. For eg: " This may be correct" will set the time of the event to "May 1st". Also, the dates included in the replies or forwards are parsed and the event is set to the last date/time in the text
