Yes I see that.

I don't feel strongly about it either way. Is automatically saving changes and updated the event lozenge in the calendar canvas something we can realistically do for Preview? Or are you speaking mostly of post-preview.

Google calendar has Cancel at the bottom of their Detail View. As does Yahoo calendar and Hotmail calendar.

Cosmo is a different application then all of the calendars you mentioned above. All the calendars above take users to a second page for editing events. This function is very similar to a dialog box. In Chandler, you have a master-detail (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master-detail), whereby whatever changes you make on the calendar is reflected in the event details and vice-versa.

I'd like to propose that the goal is for Cosmo is to behave similar to Chandler–that the event detail is displayed along side the calendar and the user can see the changes made in real-time. Ideally it will not be necessary to have 'Save', 'Cancel' and 'Remove'.
