Hi,

I was wondering if in keeping with the logic that users will have an easier time identifying which calendar client they use than figuring out about calendar file formats and sharing protocols, should we rename the Download .ics file to Desktop option: Download to Outlook or Add to my calendar (with instructions as to how to do that.)

Are there other mainstream calendar clients where this would work? Palm? I don't think Entourage supports .ics although my version may be out of date.

Are there compelling use cases for downloading .ics file into Apple iCal and Chandler instead of simply subscribing to the share?

Based on a thread that has been going about subscriptions to iCal (download an .ics files vs. subscriptions): http:// lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/design/2006-December/005838.html

Mimi and I had worked out another iteration of the subscription 'teaser' currently located on the top right hand corner of the Cosmo UI.

The changes include:
+ Moving the title of the calendar collection and 'add collection' into the user's Cosmo account into one area. + Using tool tip to help with understanding the '+' icon means add this collection into your Cosmo account. + Cleaning up the multiple icons in the top right area and using a drop down menu for subscriptions. And if possible for development in 0.6 to download an .ics file.
