what collection do they start out with? are you talking about the "Cosmo" collection that gets autocreated by the ui? i've always thought that "Cosmo" collection was a little bogus. i feel like the user, upon logging in for the first time, should see a page that says "you have no collections. you should share one with chandler, or add somebody else's shared collection, or import a calendar from another application, or make a new empty collection". of course standalone users would go "huh? what's a collection? i want a calendar!" but that's a matter of education on our terminology, i suppose.
We clearly need this. I'm wondering though how in the future, this will reconcile itself with Chandler users who have Cosmo accounts. For the consultative Chandler user, the model clearly needs to be different. Otherwise, they will accidentally add stuff to their Cosmo collection, which won't show up in their local Chandler repositories.
