Currently if the user were to re-subscribe to an existing collection in their account, it will override the existing collection. If the user renames the collection, the display name will also be overwritten to the original name given by the the person sharing the collection.

I think part of the reason for not allowing two of the same subscription in a users account is that currently there isn't the ability to delete a subscription on the web UI. The ability to delete a subscription is a feature scheduled for 0.7, so maybe we can alter this proposal to allow the user to make the decision if they want to add two of the same collection into their account.

Though I'm not sure why someone would want to have the same collection twice in their drop down list? I cannot think of a reason for having two of the same collection on the web UI—does anyone have a use case for doing this?

Especially since the target user we're satisfying for Preview is not someone who is sitting in the web UI for a long period of time managing multiple collections as a desktop user might be doing.

Does that make sense? I'll make an alternate proposal in my follow up e-mail.

Why would we let someone do this without giving them the chance to change their minds? If they are doing this it is almost certainly a mistake, so I would prefer a modal dialog box saying "You've already Subscribed to this collection. Is this really what you want [yes] [no]"
