I think this proposal for the File menu will make sense to users and
will be considerably more intuitive to them than the current menu items
for these functions. It would be helpful if the user was told during the
import and export operations as to what to expect will happen, that is,
what types of vcalendar objects will be imported or not and as what.

On a related point that the proposed wording of the menu items will
remind many users of, an improvement to the menu (and to the Chandler
suite) would be the addition of the import and export of Note/Journal
items via .ics files. Also useful would be the import of Tasks from .ics
files without having the created Chandler Tasks also stamped as Chandler
Events (I think there's a bug for this). These types of refinements
would lower the "hassle factor" for PIM-user adopters.

Cheers, Andre
