I think that's a good point...and perhaps I read through this thread too
quickly before piping up. There could be separate dialogs, one each for
import and export, presented to the user. The Import dialog could
(guide, restrict and) enable the user to select what to import from what
kind of file, and similarly for export. As capabilities are added, these
two dialogs could be updated. Sounds a little complicated (as in
resource-consuming), and perhaps some menu adjustments in the interim
meet the current need.
