Has anyone considered getting rid of the menu bar altogether? This may sound a bit radical, but I think it's worth mentioning. I know some applications, which make extensive use of the menu bar (like Evolution), could have some trouble adapting their current UI to something simpler, but think about it. When the application has a properly designed toolbar, I use only the menu bar to click on preferences. My memory may be failing, but I think Longhorn makes something out of that, with a small widget within the toolbar giving access to the menu bar. On a side note, shouldn't this discussion take place on the usability mailing list? _______________________________________________ desktop-devel-list mailing list [email protected] http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/desktop-devel-list
