Don't be fooled by the inactivity of the module - many modules are considered 'Feature complete' in many respects, and don't require too much maintenance [1]. The maintainer has indeed left Sun, and currently working on the One Laptop per Child project within Red Hat though. Glynn [1] although bugzilla does list 30 bugs
