As dead as it may be, it is the only data transfer interface supported
by video capture devices. And i am not only referring to
consumer-level devices, i am also including professional gear.

If you'd like independent confirmation, flip through any professional
video/filmmaking magazine at your favorite bookstore and read the tech
specs of any professional-grade gear (camcorders, HD/Video
encoder/decoder boards, etc).
