You'd have to be more specific about what way you want gnome-terminal to
act, especially since so few people still use dtterm to remember how
different it is (or even have it installed - since my laptops & desktop
run OpenSolaris, I can't bring it up without remote login to an older OS
that still has CDE).

For the fonts, according to /usr/dt/app-defaults/en_US.UTF-8/Dtterm
it defaults to
        -dt-interface user-medium-r-normal-*.....

which is mapped in /usr/openwin/lib/X11/fonts/F3bitmaps/fonts.alias
to:
        -b&h-lucida sans typewriter-medium-r-normal-sans-*....

which should be available under the GNOME font menus as Lucida Sans
Typewriter or LucidaTypewriter *if* you are using SXCE with it's
collection of encumbered fonts.   I don't believe those fonts are
available in any OpenSolaris distro or repo at this time.
