Does the phrase "when you pry it from my cold dead fingers" ring any bells? Even if not, I would hope that the CDE apps (minus sdtaudiocontrol, whose demise is understood) would work so long as they remain. (and I just sent an e-mail to the guy with the petition to open CDE to find out if there were any new developments, since his web page hasn't been updated in awhile) Did some lighter-weight alternative to the current GNOME desktop (ISTR Xfce having been proposed) ever get anywhere? GNOME, esp. in low memory environments (like in a VM on a Mac Mini), or older slower boxes, is an insufferable _pig_, however nice it might be on a higher-end system. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
