Title:
Launcher Icons not being kept beyond the session

Status in Unity:
  Invalid
Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
This must be the most difficult to "figure out what the problem is"
bug. Basically, Unity won't keep my assigned launchers. That is, if i
remove / add a launcher, it will stay until i reboot/halt the laptop,
and then it will return to the default Home, Firefox, LibreOffice etc
  etc...

This has been a problem for ages. I'm unsure what might have caused
  it.
