Title:
Touchpad and mouse buttons not working after upgrade from Ubuntu 9.04
  to 9.10

Status in “xserver-xorg-input-synaptics” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-synaptics

After upgrading to 9.10 Karmic Koala (from 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope) the
touchpad stopped working on my HP EliteBook 8530w. My laptop has a
touchpad, a pointing stick, and a set of three mouse buttons for each
of them. The only thing currently working is the pointing stick.
Everything worked perfectly fine with Jaunty.
