Yes I gathered that while the label on Chrome/Chromium say OpenSource, that's only a veneer.
The thing I find most upsetting about this is that Canonical keeps all these closed/outdated projects on Launchpad (even ignoring the lack of committing work done on Launchpad to upstream projects). There must be many thousands of work hours wasted because people see "oh I can translate X here" and then it turns out that X is no longer active upstream or that the translations aren't being committed etc etc etc. Canonical really must do a big clear-out of such projects. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to chromium-browser in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1376217 Title: Adding Gaelic (gd) to builds Status in chromium-browser package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Bug description: Based on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/1252253 and https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+question/239233 I'm filing a bug, not a question. We're making good progress with the Gaelic localization of Chromium (https://translations.launchpad.net/chromium- browser/translations/+lang/gd) and because I assume this will be a fairly drawn out process, I would like to get the ball rolling now for getting it added to builds for Ubuntu.
