Actually, no snap installed apps are shown in the activities overview. I was able to make one app (spotify) show by symlinking its .desktop file from /var/lib/snapd/desktop/applications to /usr/share/applications. Strangely there is a chromium-browser.desktop file in /usr/share/applications but it still doesn't show up in activities overview.
