I wonder if an ad campaign for Linux itself is the right approach.
Perhaps people would consider it too abstract unless
it talked about actual products preloaded with Linux.

And we shouldn't be writing ads for products preloaded
with Linux unless they kick ass.  i.e. they should be
good enough to impress even the Wall Street Journal,
and foolproof enough to have a low return rate at the store.
Devices with wireless trouble as described in

or for which the package manager crashes as described in

aren't quite polished enough to qualify, IMHO, no matter
how much they rock otherwise.
