just to echo what Thomas mentioned, LED colors notification customized
by users is a feature largely used in Asian market. e.g, in Japan, end
users are used to have option to customize 6-10 LED colors in their
feature phones and some latest smart phones (HTC butterfly, etc). Most
likely, japanese carriers would prefer to put it as requirement.
it allows users to set a specific color even for group of contacts.
