I had the same issue with my flame.
Take out the battery and put it back in; Then press the power button and
vol down at the same time for a few sec.
This should start the phone in fast boot mode. After this you can run
the flash script.

My advice is to flash the v180 base image that you can download from here:

If adb sideload is working, then 'adb reboot bootloader' should work as
well, and so the flash script included in the zip file should work
as-is. If you have trouble getting into fastboot you can take out the
battery and then put it back in while holding down volume-down and power
simultaneously. (as described at
