One of the problems is that the firmware the phones get shipped with is too buggy to be useful, some of the major bugs (that affected me) for a ZTE Open C as released with Firefox OS 1.3: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1030626 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1031573 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1012222 And then there is https://www.mozilla.org/en-GB/security/advisories/mfsa2014-73/ which is marked as critical. So as a consumer the only options are either to use an unofficial firmware (as I don't have any hope of ZTE ever releasing an update for that phone) or to claim the money back as the device is not fit for purpose.
