Dear Hardik,

we also have an mobilemojo mobileweb theme for oxid, based on bootstrap
framework.
Our solution was quiet simple:

the theme switcher, that can switch between different installed oxid themes,
based on device user agent string.
So you have same url, different templates.
You could even extend this for one "Pad" theme, if you like.

you have different caches for each theme, and some other obstacles to solve,
but in the end result will be quiet good.

you can try http://www.mobilemall.de/shop17
this is a lightweight theme in new flat design style.

we have additional extensions for this, like banner module, some input
assistant or 360 degree product animation.

one of our customer is www.bobshop.de - here you can check how customizable
the theme is.

in my/our opinion you will need different approaches for different clients.

  1. responsive design for classic devices and pads
  2. mobile theme for mobile phones (touch smartphones)
  3. mobile app for strong brands or mass products with returning customers

issue is that responsive is nice, but not enough because there are hundreds of
different devices with different screen resolutions and sizes.

you have full hd on a 5 inch phone, or a vga display on a cheap tablet. You
must handle all of these devices the best way. so thats why a mobile theme
makes sense, even if there are responsive templates.

regards,
Robert

Dear Hardik,

what you need, is already in development, OXID announced that during the OXID
Commons.
They expect a release in the late summer (Correct me, if i'm wrong).

But there are already solutions for that:

  * There is an OpenSource-Solution discussed in the forum and on GitHub
https://github.com/OXIDprojects/OXID-mo4free
  * There are commercial modules like our OXMOB
http://www.marmalade.de/shop/index.php?cl=search&searchparam=mobile&ldtype=line&_artperpage=10&listorderby=oxvarminprice&listorder=desc&pgNr=0

Thanks for reply

But we require complete different design, so responsive one I guess not
feasible.

Regards.

I would say

3) Responsive web design

One template, support for many devices, no SEO issues...

Hello list,

Greetings!

I have one concern about mobile site with OXID.
I would like to create two design with same shop one for mobile version and
other for PC.
with this point I have two scope:

1)
I would like to use same url for mobile design as well as pc design only
based on device we require load different template for mobile device.
would it be possible with OXID to create two different theme and load either
one as per devices..?
Also, will it be detectable by google analytics that whether request is from
mobile or PC..?
and hopefully there will be no SEO issue..!

2)
I would like to load mobile design with different url (may be using
sub-domain like m.domain.com).
So, how could I handle same shop with two different URL for mobile as well
as PC.
Also, google analytics will show different request for mobile as well as for
PC based on different URL.
but I guess SEO will have same content twice, so how could we resolved this
using OXID..?

Can anyone let me know how and using which scope should I move further..?
Hopefully someone will have idea of this and guide me for proper way.
Waiting for positive one. Thank you for help.

Thanks and Regards,
Hardik
