Hi Lamis

I'm sorry your company is forcing you to do stuff in two weeks that we others
have learned in several years! I do believe that this can be frustrating. But
be assured: We all have been banging our heads against the desk out of
desperation one or two times before ;-)

My suggestion to you (other than going to the Magnolia training a some later
point in your journey) would be to take one step after the other.
- First get yourself acquainted with Java (do some hello world examples, get
familiar with your IDE).
- Then move on to servlets (again you'll find some hello world examples and you
get to know Tomcat). Find out how to connect your IDE to Tomcat.
- Then have a look at the excellent Freemarker documentation (skip JSP since
you won't be using that for Magnolia).
- After this you should be able to do custom templates with the aid of the
magnolia documentation.
- And finally you can put your Java know-how to use by writing custom
functionality for your templates. By that time many of the concepts in the
documentation should not be too confusing to you anymore… and if they still
are, ask good, specific questions here on this list.

Good luck!

P.S.: I would hate having to move to PHP in two weeks!
