Hi Greg,

I agree with Will on this.

Quercus looks quite cool. I think Quercus could play a role in Magnolia as an
alternate “templating language” – Magnolia could support JSP, Freemarker and
PHP in addition. This might make the integration of some existing designs,
webforms and simple applications into magnolia easier. It might also allow some
templaters and designers to leverage existing PHP knowledge when working with
magnolia.

(As an aside, I think including javascript as an alternate templating language
would also be a cool feature!)

However, I don’t think Quercus will be much help migrating existing sites. When
moving from e.g. Wordpress, Drupal or Typo3 to magnolia, the parts you want to
move are not expressed in PHP – they’re content, templates or graphics. The PHP
parts are the Wordpress application code – and you don’t need that anymore,
that’s what you’re trying to replace with Magnolia.

Regards from Vienna,

Richard

That would be quite a evolution for that enterprise moving rom Wordpress to

No, seriously, such an importer, Quercus, Jackalope would be useful form the
SME users, but I'm afraid there is no real business case in this for Magnolias
EE customers.
