good, my idea was actually to add a simple property to magnolia properties to do the switch... only, I think that the default behavior for 3.1 should be to generate absolute links, and the option for generating relative links like in 3.0 should be manually activated (and deprecated). If relative links may be an improvement for some reason it's also true that they broke virtual uris, so it's IMHO more important to have everything working out of the box. I agree with the opinions in this thread but I think that: - the fact that applications built on 3.0 may rely on relative links is just a "compatibility with the past" issue and can be addressed by a switch to turn the previous behavior on - the usage of proxies/url rewriting that strip off the context path is something a little bit naif that should not be done/encouraged: apart from the fact that you can still have problems (absolute urls may easily slips in), people should just install magnolia to the root context in tomcat, just like you usually do with any other web application... my 2 c. fabrizio > > Philipp Bracher > > > > > > fabrizio > > > > ---------------------------------------------------------------- > > for list details see > > http://documentation.magnolia.info/docs/en/editor/stayupdated.html > > ---------------------------------------------------------------- > > > ---------------------------------------------------------------- > for list details see > http://documentation.magnolia.info/docs/en/editor/stayupdated.html > ---------------------------------------------------------------- > ---------------------------------------------------------------- for list details see http://documentation.magnolia.info/docs/en/editor/stayupdated.html ----------------------------------------------------------------
