I agree, almost DTV feature need to be kept as device vendor dependent advanced
feature for the time being. Specification of DTV is heavily different dependent
on regions.
Some region of DTV specification requests Java app implementation. Some region
of DTV specification requests region specific mark up language and region
specific HTML quirks,
like Broadcast Markup Language(BML) in Japan
   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadcast_Markup_Language

And a lot of capabilities are protected by patents, even a trivial ui design in
EPG.

But I hope somehow mozilla move forward to support DTV. It was my original
motivation to start contributing b2g in media area. In DTV area, almost
platforms are proprietary platforms. For browser, vendor proprietary WebKit
forks are used. Google TV uses android, but still have a small share and stops
a new version release recently. The difference between smart phone and DTV is
that DTVs require more divergence in each products than smart phone. So, it is
not easy to provide full set of WebAPIs for DTV. But I belive b2g could became
a common base platform for DTV.

I think color system and input selection are not business of WebAPI.
We should put the focus on features that Web Apps really needs. Color
system and input selection and others are used only by platform
dependent system Apps. I don't think we should standardize these
features as WebAPIs. For Web Apps only care about how to get
programme, select channel, retrieve the info of current channel, ...,
and other common used features. We should left theose advanced,
technologies depentent, features to the device vendors.
