That’s up to debate by the ActiveMQ community. My view is that the console 
should be up to the user.

I believe that the end user has a choice over what console they use. There are 
people who want to contribute to the existing ActiveMQ web console, their are 
committers and PMC members (including me) who believe that the existing web 
console is something that needs either a complete re-write or an awful lot of 
work to keep it feasible. The best way forward in my opinion, to bring this 
thread back to the original premise of this post, is to create a sub project 
for the existing web console, which will allow the folks who want to drive it 
forward to do so at a velocity that suits them, and isn’t tied to the broker 
release.
