I have not commented until now because this conversation has already been had multiple times and there is not a consensus to move and I don't think anything has changed. There might be more but here are historical threads that I found with a quick search. So I'm not really sure why this is coming up again, there were sufficient reasons to keep Jira so we didn't move forward.
In fact Justin already did an entire review on this: https://github.com/jbertram/activemq-website/wiki/Apache-ActiveMQ-GitHub-Issues-Migration-Review https://lists.apache.org/thread/w3cl57zs7xmhk38mpzygp29whmmdbjkw https://lists.apache.org/thread/zqp72y8jpsc4q9g9z4skxjyozxs8gr8r https://lists.apache.org/thread/jttg6hooo1dmgs8yn8xhn0bgxhgxl62l https://lists.apache.org/thread/9ryfs0y8gnl2z4o2d7q646ffdrs9zzcp On Tue, Mar 4, 2025 at 9:32 AM Jean-Baptiste Onofré <j...@nanthrax.net> wrote: > > Hi Domenico > > I'm happy you brought this point, because I proposed to "move" > ActiveMQ generally speaking (starting with Classic) a while ago, but > we didn't reach a consensus. > By experience on other Apache projects, GitHub Issues, Actions, > Discussions, Projects are very convenient and it works fine (with > minor changes compared to Jira). > > I'm in favor of a global move to GitHub for ActiveMQ as a whole. > > Regards > JB > > On Tue, Mar 4, 2025 at 3:04 PM Domenico Francesco Bruscino > <bruscin...@gmail.com> wrote: > > > > I'm not against GH discussions but I think we should consider this across > > the entire project rather than just for activemq-cpp because a lack of > > consistency can cause confusion for ActiveMQ users. > > > > Domenico > > > > On Sun, 2 Mar 2025 at 22:43, Ken Liao <kenlia...@gmail.com> wrote: > > > > > Sounds good to me as well! > > > > > > Thanks, > > > Ken > > > > > > On Sun, Mar 2, 2025 at 1:47 AM Jean-Baptiste Onofré <j...@nanthrax.net> > > > wrote: > > > > > > > It sounds good to me (I proposed something similar for activemq > > > > classic a while ago but we didn't get consensus). > > > > > > > > Regards > > > > JB > > > > > > > > On Sat, Mar 1, 2025 at 2:16 PM Matt Pavlovich <mattr...@apache.org> > > > wrote: > > > > > > > > > > I propose enabling discussions and issues on the activemq-cpp > > > repository. > > > > > > > > > > There would be no JIRA migration, the plan would be to open new issues > > > > there and allow existing JIRA issues to drain or be migrated by hand as > > > > needed. > > > > > > > > > > Rationale— work on this repository is gearing back up.
