> Okay. So just to be clear, if someone has 10 PRs currently open, once this new policy is implemented with a limit of 7 PRs, 3 of their PRs will be closed? These are like regular closed PRs which can be reopened once they have free slots so they won't lose their work? To be honest I think we should use this as an "educational" moment and close "all" PRs for "all" non-contributors who exceed the limits. This will happen after we announce it, of course. In those closure messages, we should explicitly ask them in the "closure" messages to make their first prioritisation decision and choose which PRs they want to re-open. This will be a defining moment for people who exceed the numbers - we never before told people opening too many PRs is bad, so they should not feel bad about it (and we shoudl make it clear in our message). But what's important is how they will react, I think if: * they drop-out and not reopen any of them - good - they don't care, we will not shed a tear * they reopen some inconsequential ones immediately - we will know they are likely doing some automation OpenClaw etc. and watch them carefully * they reopen the **right ones** and start also contributing in other ways (listening to our explanation) - we should pay more attention to their PRs then And no - nothing is lost when PR is closed. Closing PR does not delete branches in your fork; at worst, you can push the branch with different name and open it again. I am going to write (or rather ask my agent to help me write) a little more detailed and helpful contribution guide chapter describing this part - why we are closing PRs now, why we have limits, what contributors should do if they reach limits (generally do other kinds of contributions while waiting - possibly helping others), how to reopen PRs, and how to use old branches and closed PRs to restore the PR etc. J.
