As a reminder, the report is due tomorrow: Wednesday, 10/7. I am +1 overall for this draft, pending resolution of Alan's feedback. Thanks, everyone!

Do you mean you want people who are currently just doing mailing lists and JIRA to contribute patches too? There will always be many more mailing list and JIRA participants than coding ones, and that's not a bad thing. Maybe this should be rephrased to: "grow contributors outside the initial set." Alan. I am also wondering that "shepherd" field was blank during the last report. What's the process for assigning a shepherd? Thanks. -- Chetan ApexApex is an enterprise grade native YARN big data-in-motion platform thatunifies stream processing as well as batch processing.Apex has been incubating since 2015-08-17.Three most important issues to address in the move towards graduation: 1. Release Apex-Core, and Apex-Malhar at least twice. 2. Grow the community beyond Jira and ML participation. Any issues that the Incubator PMC (IPMC) or ASF Board wish/need to beaware of? None. Thanks for continual support. How has the community developed since the last report? The community is very engaged with the development of the project. There have been 485 messages on dev@. How has the project developed since the last report? Various metrics are as follows: +---------------------------------------------------+ | Metric | Core | Malhar | +---------------------------------------------------+ | Non Merge Commits | 88 | 33 | | Contributors | 17 | 9 | | Jira Issues | 94 | 30 | | Resolved Issues | 30 | 4 | +---------------------------------------------------+ The project is still using the Atlassian instance of JIRA. The migration to Apache JIRA is underway. The first release of the project under ASF banner (3.2.0) is targeted to be branched off at the end of September. Date of last release: No release under ASF-Incubation code base as yet. Apex-Core, Apex-Malhar were last launched on July end in pre Apache days. When were the last committers or PMC members elected? Amol and Thomas are in New York so will give them some time to sync in with the draft. Targetting tomorrow to have the report finalized. I hope tomorrow is okay. -- Chetan On Tue, Sep 29, 2015 at 10:10 AM, Chris Nauroth <[email protected]><mailto:[email protected]> [cid:[email protected]] Chris Nauroth<mailto:[email protected]> September 29, 2015 at 10:10 Could someone please draft the October Incubator report for Apex today? http://wiki.apache.org/incubator/October2015 I think there has been a lot of great progress this month with the website, the work on licenses in the source code and continued great collaboration in the open on the dev list and GitHub. The major blocking issue seems to be the JIRA migration, which is taking longer than I expected. There is an ASF board meeting scheduled for 10/14/2015. With consideration of 2 weeks lead time, that means the Incubator report is due on Wednesday, 9/30. I apologize for not noticing sooner. There is some talk that this might need to get delayed due to a scheduling glitch, but I'd prefer to have us lined up in case the board chooses to stick to these dates. Thanks! --Chris Nauroth
