Another option would be to ensure the released artifacts are in the eclipse.org
maven repository
http://maven.eclipse.org/nexus/index.html#view-repositories;release~browsestorage
and then we could use that repo as well as maven central in our Aries build.
Then try to get Equinox to put builds and milestone builds etc in the
eclipse.org repo.
It might be quicker this time to go the route you suggest though.
