Interesting.  Most, fortunately not all, of what I know of Japan comes from
only a few sources:

  - members of the Minolta mailing list talking about shopping
  - Iron Chef
  - Anime
  - a friend who travels there for work
  - having once had business dealings with Kanematsu Gosho

In no particular order.

I'm still trying to understand produce prices ... HOW MUCH for a peach?!?!?!

In Tokyo, the matter is worse, there are a lot of car fumes. As
a result, the allergy to pollen would get worse.
Fortunately, I am not alergic to pollen relatively, because
I was born and lived in Hokkaido, northern island of Japan. But
there were once a lot of "Shahun" (dust from asphalt-paved road,
scraped off due to studded tire) in Winter and Spring. Therefore, we had
to rinse the car dialy in Winter and Spring in Hokkaido.
