If I download the latest Phoenix binaries, they still run. And the existing
documentation at http://avalon.apache.org/phoenix is perfectly up to date
with Phoenix at the time of its last release.
Sorry, but I consider this to be largely irrelevant. I'm interested in content that is right up-to-date. If the content cannot be maintained then the content should be removed.
Rather than 404'ing legacy content, I would encourage using mod_rewrite to send a permanent redirect to the page that describes legacy product wrt avalon. That way no existing links are broken.
