Unbelievable.
I raise a sensitive concern on a private mailing list. The issue is dubbed unsensitive, yet most of it is ignored. Soon after, on a public list, I am discredited, then accused of "bikeshedding", reactionary behaviour, inconsistency and FUD. Some mud is also slung in the general direction of several projects I participate in. In the end, people deem it best to blame the ASF board (!!!) for everything.
I can't work like that. I am not going to work like that.
I'll hereby lift my veto, since it is not being respected anyway.
Wow - slow down Leo.
Posting a veto to the PMC was first and foremost the wrong thing to do. Technical decisions are taken on the dev list which is why I asked you to repost in the first place. Clearly there are differences in opinion and if you had not withdrawn you veto I would have dealt with that through normal channels.
I'll shut up about everything else as well, since my participation is obviously not appreciated here.
Your participation is appreciated. What is not appreciated are the grandiose claims of backward incompatibility, violation of trust, deliberate abandonment, etc., etc. Not exactly the language that fosters the collaboration that your seeking.
Steve.
