Hmm ... true, though from what I can tell, mostly from marketing people.
OTOH, how many of the free software tools do you use that have out-of
-box support for XML Schema? And even industry standard commercial XSD
tools like XMLSpy have the nasty habit of producing invalid schemas.
If SOAP has problematic, XSD has been a disaster of sorts, because it's
polluted every other W3C XML standard. Even MS people (who work for a
company that has strong public support for XSD) have started publicly
saying this.
